Peak Performance Buoyancy - hover like a fish, glide like a ray
We've found that when people first learn how to scuba dive they expect the buoyancy part to be a piece of cake...and then they try it and for some reason they don't look like the relaxed, motionless diver we see in the documentaries, instead the resemblance is more like an upside down turtle or someone riding a bike underwater. Trust us when we say that learning how to achieve that perfect neutral buoyancy will completely change your diving experiences forever, you'll be more relaxed, more streamlined and in control and could even save a little air prelonging your dive. We try to make this course as fun as possible with lots of buoyancy activities that will get you more comfortable in your own diving abilities and with the equipment you're using.
What You Learn
- How to trim your scuba gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water
- Nuances in determining weight so you’re not too light nor too heavy by even a slight degree
- How to streamline to save air and move smoothly through the water
- How to hover effortlessly in both a vertical position and a horizontal position
All student divers of any level are required to complete the PADI medical questionnaire prior to starting course. Any student answering ‘Yes’ to one or more of the questions may require medical clearance prior to commencing in water activities. A copy of the medical form can be found here.
